This year, the program will pay special attention to "Women in STEM professions". After all, mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology are no longer purely male domains. However, women are still significantly underrepresented in these fields today. Yet women are just as capable of working in these fields as men. In view of climate change, digitalization and the shortage of skilled workers in these areas, numerous new opportunities are also opening up for women.
The central information and advice day will take place on Wednesday, May 3, from 2:30 p.m. in the Schillerhöhe town hall in Marbach am Neckar on the subject of STEM. Employers, further education institutions, the regional office for further vocational training, the district administration office and the Ludwigsburg employment agency will be on hand to provide information. There will be information and advice on "green professions", career entry, transition and advancement in STEM professions. The MINT-friendly Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium will also be presenting itself with its Tüftler AG.
Women wanted as: Professor, engineer, world savior
From 16:30, the program will be enriched by an exciting lecture: The President of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Prof.in Dr.in Martina Klärle introduces the world of strong women with the lecture "Women wanted as: Professor, engineer, world saver".
Women in STEM professions: Opportunities and challenges
In the subsequent panel discussion, Sylvia Rall from HAINBUCH GMBH SPANNENDE TECHNIK and Xenia Torniarsky from XTservices GmbH & Co KG will provide insights into the professional world of STEM professions from a woman's perspective. They will present opportunities and paths for women in STEM professions based on their experiences as managers and employers. The views of a female mechanical engineer with family responsibilities and a trainee in a skilled trade will also be included in the discussion.
