Digital Symposium: How to Provide Relief for Family Caregivers

The Ludwigsburg District Office is hosting a digital symposium on Thursday, July 9, 2026, on the topic “A mix of support services in home care to relieve the burden on family caregivers – the role of informal networks and digital services.” The symposium will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In addition to presentations on the topic, the model project “PflegeAuszeit” will also be introduced.

Two hands are gently clasped together, one older and wrinkled, the other younger and smoother. They rest on a textured blanket, symbolizing connection, care, and support between generations.

Prof. Dr. Thomas Klie (AGP Social Research) will speak on “Connected Care – Relief Through Informal Networks and Digital Tools,” Dr. Tobias Wörle (Bavarian Center for Digital Care) will discuss “I See Something You Don’t: Visualizing Home Care Networks as a Foundation for Self-Help and Care Management,” and Clara Weritz (fabel Care app) will give a presentation titled “Digital Support That Makes a Difference in Everyday Care. When Home Care Becomes a Challenge. How fabel Connects and Supports Family Members.”

Enabling family members with caregiving responsibilities to take time off

Finally, the pilot project “PflegeAuszeit” will be presented. The aim is to enable family members with caregiving responsibilities to take time off and to establish personal support options in the home.

The symposium is open to anyone interested in the field of elder care and nursing. After registering by phone at 07141 144-2462 or by email at pflegeauszeit[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de, you will receive the access link for the event.
