2027 Waste Collection Calendar: Last printed edition available starting October 29—conveniently available in digital format starting in 2028

Households in the Ludwigsburg district will receive their waste collection calendar, which includes the collection dates for 2027, by mail starting October 29, 2026, through the end of the year. As in previous years, the calendar will be mailed in an addressed A5 envelope.

A large number of yellow and black storage bins are stacked closely together. The bins are primarily yellow on top, with black bases, and each features labeled text. The arrangement creates a uniform and organized appearance. (Text KI generiert)

Citizens can already conveniently check their collection dates online. All collection dates for 2027 are already available on the AVL customer portal. There, you can create and download personalized calendars as PDF files or calendar files. Those who prefer a paper calendar can also print it out themselves. Personal collection dates are also displayed in the free AVL Service+ app.

Starting in 2028: The waste collection calendar goes digital

Starting in 2028, AVL will make the waste collection calendar available entirely in digital format. Residents will then be able to access their collection dates via the AVL website or the free AVL Service+ app. This allows for flexible access to the latest dates while also saving paper. Anyone who would like to continue using a paper calendar can print it at home.

The 2027 waste collection calendar is therefore the last printed edition that will be mailed to all households. Starting in 2028, the calendar will generally be made available digitally. However, for residents who do not have access to the internet or the app, a printed version will still be available upon request. If you have any questions or need assistance, you can contact customer service at any time.

“With the digital waste collection calendar, we’re making our service more modern and flexible while also using resources responsibly. Many households already use our digital services today. At the same time, it’s important to us that all residents remain reliably informed about their collection dates,” says AVL Managing Director Tilman Hepperle.

Digital, Sustainable, and Economically Sensible

The annual printing and mailing of the waste collection calendar to all households in the Ludwigsburg district requires large quantities of paper and incurs costs of more than 130,000 euros per year. By switching to digital distribution, AVL will be able to save these expenses in the future and significantly reduce paper consumption.

At the same time, the switch reflects changing user behavior: Many households already check their collection dates digitally and no longer need a printed calendar.

With the digital waste collection calendar, AVL is focusing on a modern service and greater flexibility. Other municipalities in the Stuttgart region are already following this path: The city of Stuttgart, as well as the districts of Böblingen and Esslingen, have also fully transitioned to digital waste collection calendars.
