From July 20: District renovates Hohenstein thoroughfare

In addition to renewing the asphalt surface of Kirchheimer Straße (district road 1679), the rows of paving on the sides of the road will be removed for noise protection reasons. The town of Bönnigheim will make the Hohenstein-Post bus stop barrier-free.

The road must be fully closed for the work. To ensure that Hohenstein can still be accessed via Kirchheimer Straße, the work will be divided into two construction phases at approximately the level of the village church, which will be carried out one after the other. This means that Hohenstein will always be connected from one direction - either Bönnigheim or Kirchheim - via the K 1679.

The first construction phase is expected to begin on July 20. Both sections should be completed by the end of the summer vacation at the latest.

A local detour between Kirchheim and Bönnigheim is signposted. This will lead via the B 27 and the L 2254 in both construction phases.

The district has earmarked around 170,000 euros for the project. The district authority asks all road users and residents for their understanding for the obstructions and restrictions caused by the full road closure.
