Access to the glider airfield and Lerchenhof is still restricted for local traffic coming from Pattonville.
Full closure of the entire intersection is expected to last until August 25
Over the past few weeks, the road builders from the district administration office have removed all asphalt layers in the already closed area of the L 1144/K 1692 and L 1144 intersection. In order to later improve the turning situation coming from Kornwestheim to Stuttgart-Mühlhausen, they have carried out earthworks to widen the carriageway. All drainage pipes under the carriageway in the area of the junction have also been re-laid in the meantime. At the moment, the existing frost protection layer in the junction area is being reinforced so that the subsoil is more stable in future and there is less distortion of the asphalt. During the upcoming full closure, the asphalt will be removed and the frost protection layers reinforced in the junction area, including the part that is currently still open to traffic. The full closure of the entire junction is expected to last until August 25.
Extensive detour route in both directions
During the closure of the L1144, traffic will continue to be widely diverted from the B27 near Kornwestheim onwards to Ludwigsburg to Friedrichstraße (L 1140) via the L 1140 to Remseck-Aldingen and the L 1100 to Stuttgart-Mühlhausen. In the opposite direction, the detour route also follows this route. The L 1144 coming from Stuttgart-Mühlhausen can only be used by local traffic as far as the junction with Berliner Straße. The K 1692 can still be used by traffic traveling to Remseck-Aldingen as far as the junction with Kornwestheimer Straße. Drivers traveling from
Stuttgart-Mühlhausen to Kornwestheim will have to use the long-distance detour during the extended closure.
The district is carrying out the work together with the state to ensure that this section of road, which is maintained by the district, is restored to a good condition. The state is providing around 0.8 million euros for the renovation work and the district around 0.3 million euros.
The district administration asks all road users for their understanding for any traffic obstructions, especially in the detour area.
