Future strategy takes shape: Many good ideas for the future of the business location

How can we close the skills gap in the district of Ludwigsburg? How can the administrations in the district succeed in supporting companies in their concerns even faster and in a more targeted manner? And how can we align the further training opportunities in the district even better with requirements? These and other questions were discussed by 40 participants at last week's future workshop at the district administration office. With the development of concrete project ideas for the efficient implementation of the future strategy, the workshop was a milestone in the strategy process of the Ludwigsburg district.

A group of professionals engages in a discussion around a large table covered with documents and notes. One person, standing and speaking, is attentively addressing seated colleagues who are listening and taking notes. The atmosphere is collaborative and focused.

Discussion rounds on the fields of action of the future strategy.

The future workshop focused on six strategically important fields of action, from which the participants developed feasible project approaches. The fields of action covered a broad spectrum - from innovative ways to secure skilled workers and new forms of cooperation between administration and business to approaches to promote resource efficiency in the economy. In order to make progress on these issues, representatives from many of the district's municipalities, business associations and chambers, labor market and educational institutions as well as the district administration and the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation took part.

Creating further offers for the local economy on important future topics

The concretization of the fields of action through implementable projects forms the core of the future strategy that the district of Ludwigsburg is currently developing for its business location. In the field of action "Networking, knowledge transfer and start-up support", for example, the participants discussed how it might be possible to cooperate more closely with universities both within and outside the district in order to improve the networking of SMEs with science and the conditions for start-up companies. The aim is to create further opportunities for the local economy in important future topics such as artificial intelligence. Specific needs were also addressed in the "Infrastructure and space" field of action: The participants discussed project ideas on how municipalities in the Ludwigsburg district can be specifically supported in the development and activation of areas for housing construction and commerce.

Survey and in-depth workshop provided a comprehensive picture of business requirements

The fields of action of the future strategy had been developed in recent months as part of a needs analysis together with companies, local authorities, associations and institutions. A company survey with almost 200 participating companies and an in-depth company workshop provided those responsible for the project with a comprehensive picture of the requirements of the economy. At the same time, many towns, municipalities and intermediaries in the Ludwigsburg district contributed their perspectives and requirements for further economic development at participation events and committee meetings.

The results of the future workshop are now being incorporated directly into the development of the district's future strategy. The strategy process, led by the district economic development department, was launched last year and will be completed this year. The aim is to implement the first projects directly following the strategy process.
