The census office in the district of Ludwigsburg is responsible for conducting the Europe-wide
survey in 35 of the 39 district municipalities. The towns of Ludwigsburg,
Bietigheim-Bissingen, Kornwestheim and Remseck have joined forces to form their own census office
.
Around 430 survey officers have been trained in recent months and prepared for their
responsible task. During preliminary inspections, which will start at the beginning of May,
the allocated addresses, which were already
drawn as part of a random sample at the end of October 2021, will be checked. The households identified are obliged by the census
law to participate in the first public survey in more than ten years.
During the preliminary visit, the survey officers announce the date for a short interview
at the front door. It is important that the survey officers can identify themselves. The
survey begins after May 15 and should be completed by mid-July. During the interview, which lasts around
ten minutes, only general questions are asked about the
people living in the household in relation to the cut-off date of May 15, 2022. If the household has been selected for a more detailed
survey, this will take place completely anonymously online.
This means that no personal information, for example on employment or the
economic situation, is requested at the front door.
