Wusel turns Brandholz into the Summer Animal Olympics

Foxes, badgers, and hares are currently inviting visitors to take on a fun challenge: The mobile “Wusel Forest Adventure Trail,” organized by the Forestry Department of the Ludwigsburg District Office, has made a stop in Brandholz. Under the theme “Wusel’s Animal Summer Olympics,” there are a total of 13 interactive stations along the roughly two-kilometer-long loop trail. Among other things, young visitors can go on a scavenger hunt with the fox, play croquet against the badger, or compete with the hare in the long jump. You should plan on spending about one and a half to two hours on the loop trail.

“The Wusel Forest Adventure Trail combines exercise, play, and nature in a very special way. Children can explore and experiment on their own, and in the process learn just how diverse and worthy of protection our forest is,” says Councilwoman Wagner.

Strong Interest at the Halfway Point

“With its good public transportation connections and proximity to residential areas, Brandholz is an ideal location for the Wusel Forest Adventure Trail,” emphasizes Mayor Simone Lehnert. “Our forest is not only an important natural space but also a place where families can spend time together, get active, and experience nature firsthand.”

Mayor Michael Wolf says: “The fact that such a program is being created here in collaboration with the Forestry Department of the District Office shows what is possible through good cooperation. We’re delighted that Wusel is our guest this summer and is inspiring so many children and families to love the forest.”

Experience the Forest with All Your Senses

Last year alone, the forest adventure trail in Korntal-Münchingen attracted around 2,300 visitors. The Wusel Forest Adventure Trail has been a mobile program offered by the Forestry Department in the Ludwigsburg district since 2021. Each year, the trail features a new theme. In 2026, everything will revolve around the Forest Olympics.

During the Pentecost, summer, and fall breaks, the Forest Adventure Trail moves to a new location in the district. In 2026, Wusel was already a guest in Vaihingen an der Enz. The trail can be explored in Brandholz, between Bietigheim and Großingersheim, through September 27, 2026, before Wusel moves on to Großbottwar during the fall break.
