Wasserturm recycling center closes for expansion from April 13

The Wasserturm recycling centre will be closed for extensive construction and modernization measures from 13 April 2026 until probably the end of the year. The aim of the expansion is to develop the site into a modern "Recycling Center Plus".

The Wasserturm recycling center in Kornwestheim will be expanded from April 13 until probably the end of the year.

The expansion will create a future-proof recycling center that offers citizens even more convenience and service. In future, it will be possible to hand in additional recyclables and renovation waste - a significantly improved service, especially for households carrying out modernization or renovation work.

Switch to other recycling centers during the construction period

The work at the Wasserturm recycling center is expected to last until the end of the year. AVL is asking all citizens to switch to other recycling centers during this time. For regular recyclables and waste such as furniture wood, electrical appliances and paper, there is the Neckartal recycling center in Ludwigsburg-Neckarweihingen and the Ellental recycling center in Bietigheim-Bissingen. If you also want to dispose of larger quantities and renovation waste, you can use the Lehenfeld Plus recycling centers in Asperg and Lauffener Feld Plus in Bönnigheim. Private quantities from construction work such as mineral fibers, floor coverings and windows should be taken to the Am Froschgraben construction recycling center in Schwieberdingen.

The green waste container will be relocated during the construction period. Green waste and grass can be handed in at the municipal building yard in Kornwestheim (Am Sportplatz 9).

AVL will provide information about the progress of the construction work and the reopening on its website and in the AVL app. If you have any questions, please call AVL's customer service on 07141 144-2828.
