When partners become friends

The Italian Consul General Massimiliano Lagi reacted with great pleasure to the strengthening of friendly relations between the district of Ludwigsburg and the province of Bergamo during his inaugural visit to the district hall.

According to the Consul General, it is very pleasing that a formal partnership has now grown between the regions of Ludwigsburg and Bergamo, which have been linked by a partnership for many years. Lagi has been the Italian Consul General for south-west Germany since September 2020 and was a guest at the district hall for his formal inaugural visit. He spoke with District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier not only about the partnership with Bergamo. Both were also concerned about the current political situation and the impending shift to the right following new elections in Italy. Current economic issues and how to deal with a possible gas shortage were also addressed. "I am grateful for the fact that we always have such trusting discussions with our Italian partners and I will work to intensify the exchange," said District Administrator Allgaier after the visit. The district administrator will travel to the partner region of Bergamo with a delegation of district councillors in September.
