The reason for this is that the road builders cannot apply the road marking for the time being because the replacement of the surface is being examined. In the fall of 2019, the district's road builders had the district road between Vaihingen station and Illingen thoroughly repaired. The road section had to be repaired because the road surface was severely damaged due to the high traffic load and the existing road structure was no longer able to cope with the current volume of traffic.
The new road surface was routinely inspected and found to have technical defects. It is currently being examined whether the road surface needs to be replaced in whole or in part. For this reason, no road markings will be applied for the time being and this is the reason for the current speed limit of 50 km/h.
The district authority assumes that the renovation work and road markings can only be carried out after the summer vacation.
