Due to urgent work: Stammheim tunnel temporarily closed during the night from December 17 to 18

The Stammheim tunnel on federal highway 27a must be fully closed during the night from Tuesday, December 17 to Wednesday, December 18 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.. During this time, traffic will be diverted via the U98 and U99.

A view inside a tunnel shows several vehicles traveling along a multi-lane road. Red traffic lights are visible ahead, indicating a stop, while green lights line the sides. The tunnel walls are illuminated, creating a sense of depth and movement.

The reason for the closure is an accident in which a truck and its load got stuck on the ceiling of the tunnel last Friday. The damaged lights now have to be removed and the concrete beams of the ceiling inspected for damage.

Following the work in the Stammheim tunnel, maintenance work will be carried out on the lighting in the Neuwirtshaus tunnel gallery on the B10 between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on the same night and from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. the following night, i.e. from December 18 to December 19. Only one lane will be closed at a time for this. No major disruption to traffic is expected as a result.
