What is important for single parents

From January to July, the district's "Help for single parents" department will once again be offering seminars as online events. The events for single parents are entitled "Leave me alone - how can communication between parents and children succeed?", "Wills and custody orders", "Living wills, general and health care proxies" and "Growing up with little or no contact with the other parent". Participation in the seminar is free of charge, registration is requested.

The first seminar entitled "Let me - how can communication between parents and children succeed?" will take place on Tuesday, January 31, from 3 to 5 pm. Social education worker Sabine Keller will give an overview of how conversations between parents and children can be successful. In everyday life, there is often not enough time, nerves are frayed, one word leads to another and the result is not a constructive conversation, but an argument. The lecture provides information on methods and tips for a culture of conversation in the family.

Lawyer Lucie Motte will explain the topic of "Wills and custody orders" on Tuesday, March 21, from 3 to 5 pm. As soon as children are born, people start to think: "What if something happens to me, who will look after my child?" In fact, a custody decree and a will tailored to underage children can be used to regulate many things so that the child continues to be well looked after in the event of an accident.

Lucie Motte's second seminar on May 16 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. will focus on the topic of "Living wills, general powers of attorney and health care proxies". With a power of attorney, trusted persons can act on your behalf and take care of official matters. A clearly formulated living will has also become indispensable. The speaker will explain the system, structure and content aspects of both areas.

The fourth seminar will take place on Tuesday, July 11, from 3.00 pm - 4.30 pm - 5.00 pm. Franz-Josef Innerhofer from the Psychological Counseling Center at the Ludwigsburg District Office will speak on the topic of "Growing up with little or no contact with the other parent". In some families, children grow up mainly or exclusively with one parent, for example after separations. They have little or no contact with the other parent. This seminar will focus on the issues that play a role in these types of families and what can be helpful for parents and children in dealing with them. There will be enough space for your own questions.
