VVS: Leisure buses start their season on May 16 - initially without bike trailers - Stromer anniversary

As in public life as a whole, public transport has been in a state of emergency in recent weeks. The transport companies are now running almost their entire timetables. The leisure buses in the region, including the Stromer, WeinKulTourer and Berg- und Talbus, will soon be starting the season again. Together with the transport companies and the VVS, the regional districts have decided that they will start operating on Saturday, May 16, 2020. However, they will initially be operating without bicycle trailers. The Stromer is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. It has more than 10,000 users per year.

A red and black bus labeled "Stromer" is parked on a cobblestone street, with a traditional half-timbered house in the background. The bus features promotional graphics and is positioned prominently in the foreground of the image.

The Stromer is celebrating its tenth anniversary this season.

The leisure buses normally start the season between the end of March and the beginning of May and take weekend excursionists and their bike trailers to the various excursion destinations in the region. When the buses will be back on the road with trailers will be decided after the first test phase without trailers. The VVS will inform you as soon as there is any news.

There are ten leisure bus routes in the VVS network area:

- Blaue Mauer (Esslingen district)
- Schopflocher Alb (Esslingen district)
- Schwäbische Alb (Esslingen district)
- Reußenstein (Esslingen district/Göppingen district)

- Stromer (Ludwigsburg district)
- WeinKulTourer (Ludwigsburg district) (from 17 May, does not run on Saturdays)
- Berg- und Talbus (Ludwigsburg and Rems-Murr districts)

- Räuberbus (Rems-Murr district)
- Waldbus (Rems-Murr district)
- Limesbus Nord/Süd (Rems-Murr district)

As passengers can still only use the rear door, the VVS recommends that anyone who does not have a season ticket should buy VVS tickets on their cell phone, for example via the "VVS mobil" app.

The VVS continues to appeal to its passengers to urgently comply with the mask requirement in the vehicles and at the stops and stations. In addition, it is essential that the familiar hygiene regulations are observed.
