From May 26 to June 13, 2025: Extension of the footpath and cycle path along the K1635 between Kleinsachsenheim and Metterzimmern

The existing footpath and cycle path along the K1635 district road between Kleinsachsenheim and Metterzimmern is being widened due to its current insufficient width of around 1.80 meters. The aim is to increase road safety for pedestrians and cyclists. After the expansion, the path will have a width of three meters.

A roadblock is featured with a red and white barrier, and a circular road sign indicating 'no entry.' There is a yellow sign pointing to the right labeled "Umleitung," which means "detour" in German. Several warning lights are positioned at the top of the barrier.

The construction work is planned for the period from May 26 to June 13, 2025. During this time, there will be disruptions for cars, trucks, cyclists, pedestrians and buses. Motorized traffic will only be slightly affected by a lane narrowing. The lanes in both directions will remain open during the entire construction phase.

Detour set up for cycle and pedestrian traffic

A detour will be necessary for cycle and pedestrian traffic, which will be signposted accordingly on site. The detour will run parallel to the construction section on the Metterradweg.

The costs for the construction project amount to around 400,000 euros. The project is being funded by the state.
