Full closure between Unterriexingen and Untermberg

Due to fundamental renovation work, the district road 1684 between Unterriexingen and Untermberg will be fully closed from May 30.

The full closure is expected to last until the end of the year. A detour has been signposted. Around 2.3 kilometers of the district road from the direction of Unterriexingen from state road 1141 to the entrance to Untermberg will be completely renovated. The section of road has been in need of repair for many years. The measure is therefore necessary in order to maintain road safety. The road will be given a new asphalt structure and the existing frost protection layers will be consolidated to increase stability. In addition, the road width will be harmonized to 5.50 metres throughout and the road will be given improved drainage and a stable verge, particularly in the area of the steep embankments. The tight hairpin bend will be made a little less sharp. The vehicle restraint systems will also be adapted to the current state of the art.

From the beginning of the K 1684, traffic coming from Unterriexingen will be diverted via the L 1141 Oberriexinger Straße, the L 1125 and the K 1636 to Bietigheim-Bissingen / Untermberg. In the opposite direction, traffic will be routed from Untermberg L 1110 Bissinger Straße, Hauptstraße in Sachsenheim and L 1141 Oberriexinger Straße to the start of the K 1684 in the direction of Unterriexingen.

Regular bus services are affected by the construction work. Bus users should inform themselves in good time about timetable changes and cancellations.

The district has allocated around 3.3 million euros from the district road construction program for the project.

The district authority asks road users and residents for their understanding for the disruption caused by the work.
