The Enz bridge near Oberriexingen received a poor rating in the last main inspection. Further investigations were then carried out to determine what damage needed to be repaired. Such inspections of bridge structures are carried out at regular intervals in order to identify damage and the need for renovation at an early stage.
Signposted detour
The detour from district road 1685 at the junction of district road 1683 to Oberriexingen and vice versa is signposted via Unterriexingen, state road 1141 and district road 1639. At the traffic circle at the junction K 1683 / entrance to Sersheim, the direction to Enzweihingen is signposted via the junction Eichwald / state road 1141 / Unterriexingen / district road 1685. Traffic lights will be installed at the junction in Unterriexingen (state road 1141 / district road 1685) during the construction period.
Bus services will also be diverted
Bus route 532 (Ludwigsburg - Markgröningen - Oberriexingen) and bus route 579 (Vaihingen/Enz - Enzweihingen - Oberriexingen) will be diverted during this time. Detailed information on the detour will be published in good time at www.vvs.de and via the VVS app. Information will also be displayed at the affected stops.
Costs for the renovation work: around 800,000 euros
The district is investing around 800,000 euros in the renovation work. It asks road users for their understanding for the disruption caused by the full closure of the bridge.
