Adult education centers in the Ludwigsburg and Zwickau districts sign cooperation agreement - District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier: "We want to make a contribution to bringing the two partner districts even closer together"

The Schiller Adult Education Center in the Ludwigsburg district and the Zwickau Adult Education Center signed a cooperation agreement at the "Landkreisfeschd" last Saturday (June 24) in the Ludwigsburg district hall. "We are very much looking forward to the cooperation and would like to make a contribution to bringing the two partner districts even closer together. As far as we know, this supra-regional partnership between two adult education centers is unique," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier. The specific aims of the partnership are the professional exchange between the two educational regions, the mutual support in the development and implementation of events, course concepts, new formats, the further development of supra-regional educational offers and the networking of both partner districts

Adult education centers have always been subject to a certain pressure to innovate. Social developments and educational trends in all areas must be recognized and integrated promptly. They are dependent on increasingly complex demands on administration and organization on the one hand and the ever-changing needs of the population in terms of content and quality on the other. This gave rise to the idea of an adult education partnership between the Schiller Adult Education Center and the Zwickau Adult Education Center. The management of the Schiller Adult Education Center and the Zwickau Adult Education Center have been in active contact since July 2022.

The online courses have already been linked on the websites of the two adult education centers for some time. This means that participants from the Ludwigsburg district can already find and book online courses at the Volkshochschule Zwickau. In future, cooperation courses are also planned, e.g. on regional food, language and so on, as well as study trips to the other district.

The districts of Zwickau and Ludwigsburg have maintained a partnership since 1990. The two adult education centers belonging to the respective districts - the Schiller Adult Education Center founded in 1946 and the Zwickau Adult Education Center founded in 1919 - fulfill a special task in the districts. Thanks to their comprehensive, high-quality and needs-oriented services, the adult education centers form a link between the population and the district administration and thus also enable active participation
