Turkish delegation visits the district hall

A group of visitors from Erzin, the Turkish twin town of Freiberg am Neckar, together with Mayor Dirk Schaible, recently visited the Ludwigsburg district Ludwigsburg recently.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier welcomed the delegation led by Vice Consul Erkan Yilmaz and Mayor
Ökkeş Elmasoğlu and emphasized the importance of the partnership between Erzin and
Freiberg: "Town twinning between German and Turkish municipalities is still
comparatively rare," said the District Administrator.


The city of Erzin is located in south-western Turkey and has around 35,000 inhabitants. The partnership
between Freiberg and Erzin has existed since 1996. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier presented the
twin town of Erzin with the district pennant and chocolates from the district. The delegation from
also brought a gift for the district administrator - a sculpture-like work of art representing the town of Erzin,
. It depicts various citrus fruits, in particular
mandarins, oranges and pomelos, for whose cultivation the region is known.
