By observing strict guidelines, the auditions can take place in presence again. However, the prizewinners' concert is once again canceled due to the pandemic.
The "Jugend musiziert" regional competition will take place for the 59th time on the weekend of January 29 and 30, 2022. It was hardly possible to play and audition together last year. The 2021 "Jugend musiziert" competition also took place almost exclusively digitally. "As patron of the regional competition, I am all the more pleased that live events can once again take place in Ditzingen and Vaihingen/Enz this year - in compliance with the highest hygiene standards," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier. The special thing about "Jugend Musiziert" is undoubtedly the unique competition atmosphere and the community among the young musicians.
The high number of participants in the regional competition once again shows that children and young people make music with a great deal of love and commitment. Around 150 young musicians from the Ludwigsburg district will be demonstrating their skills this weekend in solo and group competitions. The violin solo category is still the clear leader in terms of the number of participants: with 34 participants, it has almost reached the high number it has had for years. As a highlight this time, five ensembles will be competing in the "Early Music" category, which deals with a very special instrument and its style.
The district administrator's special thanks go to the long-time organizer of the regional competition, Manfred Frank from the Ditzingen Youth Music School, as well as to the dedicated teachers at the music schools in the district, who devote a lot of time and energy week after week to the musical education of children and young people and to the preparation of competitions such as "Jugend musiziert". The district administrator is keeping his fingers crossed for the children and young people: "I wish all participants in the regional competition the best of luck and success for the public competitions and lots of enthusiasm and joy in making music in the future!"
