Partial closure from May 27: Sidewalk along the K 1692 will be dismantled

From May 27, the sidewalk on the K 1692 between the Remseck junction "Ludwigsburger Steige" and the traffic circle at the northern entrance to Pattonville will be removed. At the same time, the Kohlenweg bus stop will be converted to make it handicapped accessible.

For the work, there will be a partial closure in the direction of travel from Remseck to Ludwigsburg.

The crossing aid enables pedestrian traffic from Remseck Pattonville to Oßweil to cross the K 1692 safely.

The construction work is expected to be completed by the beginning of July 2024. There will be a partial closure in the direction from Remseck to Ludwigsburg for the work. The road in the opposite direction will be one-way. A detour route is signposted. Traffic coming from Remseck-Aldingen (Neckartal) will be routed via the L 1144 to the southern traffic circle in Pattonville (at the airfield) and then on through Pattonville.

As part of the project, the "Aldinen Kohlenweg" bus stop will also be converted to make it handicapped accessible. In addition, a new crossing aid for pedestrians and cyclists will be installed across the K 1692 at Pattonville. Bus route 402 will continue to run as usual, but the "Aldingen Kohlenweg" stop will not be available during the conversion work. Further information can be found on the notices at the bus stops or at www.vvs.de.

Demolition serves to unseal the road

As a minimum distance of 1.75 m must be maintained between the carriageway and sidewalk outside built-up areas, the sidewalk will not be renovated but completely removed. On the other side of the road, there is an upgraded service road that can be used by pedestrians and cyclists. The dismantling of the footpath therefore serves to unseal areas so that, for example, additional sealing can be offset by the construction of other cycle paths or cycle highways.

The disabled-friendly conversion of the Kohlenweg bus stop is part of a program that aims to bring all bus stops up to a disabled-friendly standard in the medium term. The crossing aid enables pedestrian traffic from Remseck Pattonville to Oßweil to cross the K 1692 safely.

The costs amount to around 300,000 euros. The district is covering the entire

costs. The conversion of the bus stop to make it handicapped accessible is being subsidized by the state with 40,000 euros.

The district administration office asks all road users and residents for their understanding for the obstructions and restrictions.
