In addition to discussions with experts and patients, blood pressure measurements and information material, a competition with interesting prizes awaits visitors to the stand. The main attraction is a walk-in heart model with guided medical tours. Visitors can also see transplantable organs in relation to each other on a torso model. All offers are free of charge for those interested.
Saving lives: Organ Donation Day aims to raise awareness of the issue
Organ Donation Day falls on the first Saturday of June every year. The aim of this special day is to draw attention to the complex and socially relevant issue of organ donation. The aim is to thank all the people who have saved lives by donating their organs.
"Under the motto #ZeitZeichenZuSetzen, we want to encourage as many people as possible to make a decision about organ and tissue donation, document their decision and talk about it with others," says Dr. Uschi Traub, Head of the Health Promotion and Health Planning Department at the Ludwigsburg District Office. "We provide information about organ donation and transplantation, about "brain death" and about the new online organ donation register."
Mayor Sebastian Mannl is also supporting the campaign and will be on site on June 1: "Organ donation is a difficult topic for many people and is often associated with uncertainty. We should take every opportunity to provide information about this important, life-saving topic and talk to people about it," he emphasizes.
Dr. Uschi Traub can provide further details about the campaign day and the topic of organ donation by calling 07141 1442520 or sending an email to gesundheitsfoerderung[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de.
