Road renovation between Mundelsheim and Hessigheim completed: K 1677 reopened to traffic from April 29 Full closure between Hessigheim and Besigheim necessary for three days from May 3

After a total construction period of just seven weeks, the renovated K 1677 between Mundelsheim and Hessigheim will be reopened to traffic on Saturday morning, April 29. On the continuing stretch from Hessigheim to Besigheim, another three-day full closure will be necessary from May 3.

The road builders from the district administration have thoroughly renewed the asphalt layers and created a stable verge to improve road safety. They also carried out renovation work on the Mundelsheim through road. On behalf of the municipalities of Mundelsheim and Hessigheim, they also provided the Neckar Valley cycle path between the two towns with a new asphalt surface and thus repaired damage caused by root debris.

As agreed with the local winegrowers, the district road can now be reopened in time for the start of the winegrowing season.

The district has earmarked around 600,000 euros for the construction work. As things stand today, the budget has been adhered to, but the final invoice will still take some time.

The roads department of the district administration would like to thank all residents and those involved for their patience and cooperation.

Following this work, there will be a temporary full closure on the continuing stretch between Hessigheim and Besigheim from May 3, as a settlement point needs to be repaired for road safety reasons. This work is expected to take three days. A local detour has been signposted.
