The CITY CYCLING initiative will kick off the season with a rally to the Schapfenfest in Schwieberdingen on Saturday, July 6. Around 250 city cyclists will take part in a parade through the town and the underground parking garage under Schwieberdingen town hall will be declared a bicycle parking garage.
Last year, the district of Ludwigsburg was the state winner of the "City Cycling" campaign. The organizers from the climate protection team at the district office are keen to build on this success. The first major event in this context is the rally to the Schapfenfest in Schwieberdingen on Saturday, July 6. Around 250 participants will take part in the parade through the town from 1 p.m. and draw attention to the "City Cycling" campaign. To ensure that there is no shortage of bicycle parking spaces, the underground parking garage under Schwieberdingen town hall will be declared a bicycle parking garage on this day.
Anyone wishing to take part in the rally can contact their town or municipal administration to find out the meeting point and departure time. Registration is not necessary.
Further information on the campaign and registration can be found online at www.stadtradeln.de or at www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de. In addition, the City Cycling Campaign has been present in the "Regional Window" in the foyer of the district building since this week with a small exhibition, information, flyers and impressions.
