Launch of the state initiative "Transparent Production" in the Ludwigsburg district and in Stuttgart: two nurseries open their doors at the start

Several exciting events will kick off the "Transparent Production" program in the Ludwigsburg district and Stuttgart in April. From April to October, consumers will be able to take a look behind the scenes at the farms and have direct contact with the producers of local products to learn and experience lots of interesting things. The motto of the transparent production is "Sustainably good - food and plants from the region".

A vibrant greenhouse filled with an array of colorful flowers, including petunias and geraniums. The layout features neatly arranged potted plants along a wide walkway, creating a lively and fragrant atmosphere. A sign overhead indicates the section for geraniums.

Saturday, 27.04.2024 - Guided tour of the Braun organic farm, Vaihingen/Enz - Registration required

Bioland-Gärtnerei Braun is one of the pioneers of organic farming in our region. Once a month from April to October, the doors of the Braun organic farm are opened to interested visitors on Saturdays for a guided tour of the farm with Michael Braun, with a short presentation by a partner supplier rounding off the event. Snacks and drinks round off the program. Afterwards, visitors are also welcome to visit the farm store.

Maximum 30 people per date, contribution towards expenses €10 per person. Please register by 20.04.2024 for the first tour on 27.04. The other dates can be found in the Glass Production leaflet or requested from the organic farm.

Saturday, 27.04., and Sunday, 28.04.2024 - Blümlesfest at Rosen Hammer, Hessigheim

At the Blümlesfest of the fourth generation of the traditional nursery Rosen Hammer, bedding and balcony flowers, herbs, vegetable plants, a tree nursery and a rose department with over 300 varieties meet modern garden supplies, accessories and creative floristry.

Visitors can expect a wide variety of plants, flowers and accessories on the weekend of the transparent production. The entire production window, from young to fully grown plants, can be viewed and purchased directly in the greenhouse. The horticultural advisory service of the Ludwigsburg District Office will be on hand at the stand to provide information about pests and beneficial insects. The Hessigheim choral society will be providing refreshments.

The guided tour of the Ditzingen clay mill on Friday, 19.04.2024, from 15:00 to 16:30 is already fully booked. However, further dates will be offered throughout the year and can be requested. The tour costs 5 euros per person. The clay mill in Ditzingen, run by the Siegle family, processes organic grain from the region into type flours for bakeries, pasta production and the mill shop/retail trade. Visitors can experience the production of high-quality flours up close as part of a lively mill tour, peppered with lots of information about the flour production process.

Leaflets with information on all the openings planned this year will soon be available at the Citizens' Information Office in the Ludwigsburg District Hall, Hindenburgstraße 40, at the Nutrition Center Mittlerer Neckar, Hindenburgstraße 30/1 and in the town halls of the municipalities in the district and in Stuttgart.
