Safely and reliably through the night: Night buses in the Ludwigsburg district

The night buses in the Ludwigsburg district offer a convenient and safe way to stay mobile even in the late hours. With 16 routes serving numerous locations away from the S-Bahn and regional train routes, the service is an attractive alternative for night owls, commuters and anyone who is out and about at night.

A city bus with bright headlights is parked at a bus stop at night. The bus displays a route number and destination, surrounded by dimly lit buildings and trees. Red streaks of light from moving vehicles can be seen in the foreground.

The night buses in the Ludwigsburg district run on Friday and Saturday nights, Saturday and Sunday nights and before public holidays (VVS).

The night bus lines connect directly to the night journeys of the S-Bahn lines S4, S5 and S6 at the stations in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Ditzingen, Freiberg am Neckar, Kornwestheim, Ludwigsburg, Marbach an Neckar and Zuffenhausen. The N3 and N52 lines are an exception, as they operate independently of the S-Bahn.

Connections in all directions

The buses run on Friday and Saturday nights, Saturday and Sunday nights and before public holidays. They run every hour between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., ensuring a flexible and reliable journey home.

"The night buses are an essential part of our local transport services and an important contribution to mobility in the district. They also offer safety and comfort for users," says Volker Maus, Head of the Organization and Local Transport Division at the Ludwigsburg District Office.

Safety on board

In order to offer passengers a safe and pleasant experience, security personnel have been deployed on the N44, N46, N56 and N58 lines since October 2024. With their presence, the security staff help to ensure that all passengers feel comfortable and protected.
