Seminar program from February to July: Helpful tips for single parents

The district's "Help for Single Parents" specialist department has a varied seminar program from February to July. For the first time, it is offering a three-part event, which can also be attended individually. The first three events for single parents are entitled "Coming to terms with separation", "Strengthening child(ren) after separation" and "Prospects and opportunities for the future". The fourth seminar event is entitled "Good things don't have to be expensive". The provisions of the country's current Corona Ordinance apply to attendance at the events.

Monika Nohl-Schäfer, a qualified social education worker and systemic family therapist, will lead the first three events. The first seminar entitled "Processing separation" will take place online via "Teams" on Tuesday, February 22, from 3.00 to 4.30 pm. Every separation and divorce creates a feeling of powerlessness that needs to be dealt with appropriately. What a separation does to you and how to get out of this spiral of fear for the future or disorientation will be the topic of this afternoon.

In the second seminar on April 5 from 3.00 to 4.30 p.m. in room 401 of the Ludwigsburg District Hall, Hindenburgstr. 40, entitled "Strengthening child(ren) after a separation", the speaker Monika Nohl-Schäfer will focus on the children. They also suffer when mom and dad separate. In this seminar, we would like to look at different behaviors of children after a parental separation as well as their needs. As a mother, how can I support my child in difficult times and give them appropriate support so that the separation, whether it is very recent or has already happened some time ago, is acceptable for the child. In this seminar, Nohl-Schäfer would also like to address the question "What strengths does my child have and how can I emphasize these even more in everyday life?

At the third seminar on May 31 from 3.00 to 4.30 p.m. in room 401 of the Ludwigsburg district hall, Hindenburgstr. 40, Nohl-Schäfer will focus on the prospects and opportunities for the future of single parents. Various questions will be discussed, for example: "How can I as a woman and mother cope well with everyday life with my child, my children?" or "What would I like to change?" or "What opportunities are now available to me personally?" These and other questions will be addressed together in the seminar.

The fourth seminar on July 12 from 3.00 to 4.30 p.m. in room 401 of the Ludwigsburg District Office, Hindenburgstr. 40, with the topic "Good things don't have to be expensive" will be led by Sonja Ohren, a qualified social education worker at the Ludwigsburg District Office. Even with less money, you can experience or buy nice things together with your children. Together with the participants, a "top list" of inexpensive excursion destinations in the district of Ludwigsburg and the surrounding area is drawn up. They will also look at apps for cell phones that are good for saving money and websites on this topic. Each participant receives a handout.

In addition, the specialist help center for single parents offers "open meetings". Interested women can enquire at the specialist center whether the meeting takes place in person or online. Kaffee Frieda" takes place every 14 days on Thursdays from 16:00 to 17:30. The "Open meeting for single parents with older children aged 10 and over" takes place without children every two months from 4.30 to 6.00 pm.

You can register by telephone on 07141 144-42781, -2104 or -43199 or by e-mail to Sonja.Ohren@landkreis-ludwigsburg.de or alleinerziehende@landkreis-ludwigsburg.de.
