Self-help groups will be providing information on October 17 at Ludwigsburg Market Square

Several self-help groups from the Health and Self-Help Network (NeGeS) will be presenting themselves on Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ludwigsburg market square. At an information booth, interested visitors will have the opportunity to learn about various illnesses and life situations and to talk with people affected by them.

The event coincides with a period when several nationwide awareness days are aiming to draw attention to important health issues: October 5 is Epilepsy Awareness Day, and October 8–15 is Vision Week.

Questions and Discussions Welcome

Representatives from groups focusing on blindness and visual impairment, epilepsy, the District Senior Citizens’ Council, polio, “Schwätzles Treff” in Bietigheim-Bissingen, and the Ludwigsburg Friends of Addiction invite you to ask questions and engage in conversation with them. In addition, NeGeS provides information about self-help work in general. Anyone who wants to know how to find a suitable self-help group or even start a group themselves can get practical tips and support there.

“Self-help groups are an important resource for many people affected by these conditions. Talking with others who have had similar experiences often offers a completely different perspective than information found online,” says Dr. Ulrike Rangwich-Fellendorf, deputy director of the Department of Health.

No registration required

All visitors to the market day are cordially invited to stop by the information booth, ask questions, and learn about what the self-help groups have to offer. No registration is required.
