The support group for people with dementia is looking for volunteers who would like to talk to people who are at the beginning of dementia. The aim is to build trust, recognize wishes, strengthen social resources and reduce fears. Contact at eye level creates security for those affected and an atmosphere that encourages and strengthens them so that they can continue to live their everyday lives in their familiar structures for as long as possible.
Working in the support group is an exciting and varied voluntary role that is professionally supervised by the staff of the district administration's specialist advice service for the elderly. In addition, the support group meets regularly to exchange ideas. The volunteers are deployed once or twice a month for one to three hours, during which they provide sensitive support to people with the onset of dementia.
The training takes place at the Ludwigsburg District Office in the conference area. The seminar is free of charge and concludes with a certificate. No previous experience is required. The number of participants is limited. If you would like to register by March 21, 2025 or have any questions, please contact the Ludwigsburg District Office's specialist advice service for the elderly on 07141 144 2463 (Silke Reich, Sibylle Kostron) or by email at unterstuetzerkreis[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de.
