No stomping, no shouting, no children's laughter: For two years, it was quiet at the school hostel
Strümpfelbrunn in the idyllic Odenwald. Due to the corona measures,
was temporarily closed. However, there was not complete silence at the home, which is located 86 kilometers from
Ludwigsburg. The district of Ludwigsburg and the Kreissparkasse
Ludwigsburg as the responsible body used the forced break for numerous renovation measures
and turned the school hostel into a modern leisure and conference facility. The
building now has barrier-free access and barrier-free rooms, a shower and
WC. All bathrooms have been newly renovated. In addition, the lounge area has been equipped with a multifunctional display
and there is WLAN throughout the house. Thanks to a generous
donation, there is now also a new covered barbecue area with two fire bowls for cozy
get-togethers with a campfire atmosphere.
The Strümpfelbrunn school hostel can be booked again from May. The current booking plan
with available dates can be viewed on the website. If you want to get an idea of the
premises, you can take a look at the website www.schullandheim-struempfelbrunn.de
, where a virtual tour of the building will soon be online. The house
offers space for around 100 people in well-equipped four- and five-bed rooms; for accompanying persons
there are single and double rooms with private bathrooms. The kitchen team of the hostel parents,
the Bachert family, prepares fresh meals every day, and freshly baked bread
made from organic grain that they grind themselves is also on the menu.
