The aim of the symposium is to strengthen child protection in clubs and associations in the long term. Workshops, lectures and world café stations: What's on offer at the symposium
The symposium will open with a keynote speech by Susanne Bakaus, Head of the State Psychological Counseling Center of the Protestant Church of Baden-Württemberg. Participants can look forward to a variety of workshops and world café stations on key child protection topics. These include, among others:
- Creation and importance of protection concepts
- Challenges in the creation process
- Learning processes from past incidents
- Perpetrator strategies and victim behavior
- Dealing with incidents among peers
- Complaints management and feedback culture
At the same time, there will be information stands on various topics where participants can obtain information and network. Organizations such as the Kinderschutzbund, Silberdistel and many others will be represented on site.
"Trust in the work of associations should be strengthened"
"The introduction of comprehensive child protection measures is intended to strengthen families' trust in the work of associations. This not only makes it easier for volunteers to get involved, but also acts as a deterrent to potential perpetrators," says Anja Beckmann from the District Office's Children, Youth and Family Department.
The symposium is funded by the "Gemeinsam engagiert in BW II" (Committed together in BW II) funding program of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration with state funds approved by the Baden-Württemberg state parliament.
