Renovation of the Hessigheim thoroughfare begins

The renovation of the Hessigheim thoroughfare begins on April 20. The first construction phase is planned for the Gartenstraße area between the sports field and the Neckarbrücke junction.

A roadblock is featured with a red and white barrier, and a circular road sign indicating 'no entry.' There is a yellow sign pointing to the right labeled "Umleitung," which means "detour" in German. Several warning lights are positioned at the top of the barrier.

As part of the renovation, the existing asphalt layers will be renewed and the drainage situation optimized. The municipality is also renewing water pipes in this area. The district road is being renovated in three construction phases. The first section, which is starting now, begins at the end of the village in the direction of Mundelsheim and ends at the junction with Brückenstraße. This section is fully closed. From the direction of Hessigheim town center, the Neckar bridge in the direction of Kleiningersheim is accessible at all times, as is the accessibility of the companies on the eastern side of the Neckar and the Schreyerhof residential area. Interregional traffic is routed from Mundelsheim via the L 1115 to Besigheim and via the K 1620 Ottmarsheimer Straße to Hessigheim. In the first two construction phases, the connection to local public transport will only be possible to Besigheim. A circular route to and from Besigheim will be set up with stops at the Eisele saddlery, the Protestant parish hall and the junction of Trollingerstraße and "Am Felsengarten". The closure for the first section will be in place from Monday, April 20 and will last around six weeks. The district has allocated almost 600,000 euros for the renovation work. The district authority asks all road users and residents for their understanding for the obstructions and restrictions.
