Renovation of the K1609 district road through Murr delayed

Since the start of the summer vacations, the K1609 Murr through road has been undergoing renovation work on Bietigheimer Strasse and Heilbronner Strasse on behalf of the district. After the first two construction phases were completed on schedule during the summer vacation, the third construction phase has been delayed due to the rainy weather in recent weeks: The kerbs for the pedestrian crossing islands and the road markings could not be laid in time. The opening of the road is expected to be postponed until September 19.

The construction work was divided into three construction phases, each lasting around two weeks. In the first section, the asphalt surface of Bietigheimer Straße, including the Bietigheimer Straße bus stop, was repaired.

In the second construction phase, the asphalt was repaired in the area of Heilbronner Straße between the junction with Bietigheimer Straße and Pleidelsheimer Weg. The reconstruction there also included the crossing points and various sidewalk adjustments in the area of the Im Gigis junction.

Delays have now occurred in the third construction phase: Once the asphalt has been repaired, the kerbs for the pedestrian crossing islands and the road markings from Pleidelsheimer Weg to the end of the village are still missing.

Detour still in place for local and non-local traffic

The signposted supra-local detour route between Murr and Höpfigheim leads via the L1100 and K1611.

For access to the residential area between Tannenweg and Pleidelsheimer Weg, local detour have been signposted.

420,000 euros construction costs - municipality contributes

The costs for this construction project total around 420,000 euros, of which the municipality of Murr is contributing 35,000 euros for sidewalk modifications. The district authority asks all road users and residents for their understanding for the restrictions and delays.
