Renovation of the Hessigheim thoroughfare continues: second construction phase begins on June 3

The first construction phase of the renovation of the Hessigheim thoroughfare is expected to be completed on schedule: As planned, the road builders from the district administration office will be able to complete the first construction phase between the sports field and Neckarbrücke bridge after six weeks as scheduled. This means that they will be able to switch the construction site over to the second construction phase after the Whitsun weekend. The second section begins at the junction with Brückenstraße and runs through the town center past the town hall to the junction with Ottmarsheimer Straße. This section will then be fully closed from Wednesday, June 3.

The local detour remains in place. However, road users should note that the northern Gartenstraße - the previous first construction phase - and the Neckarbrücke bridge can only be reached from the direction of Mundelsheim.

Access to the Neckar bridge in the direction of Kleiningersheim and therefore also access to the companies on the eastern side of the Neckar and the Schreyerhof residential area is still guaranteed at all times - but only from the direction of Mundelsheim from the start of the new section. From Hessigheim and Besigheim, road users will have to use the detour via the L1115 and the K1700 through Mundelsheim.

The connection to local public transport remains the same as for the first construction phase.

The closure for the second section is expected to last around three to four weeks. The third and final construction phase will then begin.

The district administration would like to thank the citizens of Hessigheim for the smooth implementation of the first construction phase and asks all road users and residents for their understanding for the obstructions and restrictions caused by the second construction phase.
