Topping-out ceremony for the district administration office's new company daycare center - District Administrator: "Construction work is right on schedule"

The topping-out ceremony was celebrated on Friday (December 6) for the construction of the district administration office's company daycare center. District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas welcomed the participants and said: "I am delighted to be celebrating the topping-out ceremony after almost eight months of construction. The construction work is right on schedule and if everything continues as planned, the daycare center can open in October 2020."

A group of seven people poses in front of a partially constructed building surrounded by scaffolding. They are standing together, smiling, on a clear day. The scene includes a yellow construction crane on the left.

At the ground-breaking ceremony for the district administration office's company daycare center, from left: District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas, Curt-Ekkehard Freiherr Schenck zu Schweinsberg (District Representative of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe in Ludwigsburg and regional board member of the aid organization), Johanna Urban (specialist advisor), Konrad Seigfried (First Mayor of Ludwigsburg), Daniela Kob (Head of Children and Youth at the Regional Association of Johanniter-Unfallhilfe), Yves Patrick Wörner (Regional Board Member of the Stuttgart Regional Association of Johanniter-Unfallhilfe, half hidden), Heiko Hauser (Honorary Regional Board Member of the Stuttgart Regional Association of Johanniter-Unfallhilfe).

In his welcoming address, the head of the district administration emphasized the need for a company daycare centre: "With our own company daycare centre, we are taking a big step towards reconciling family and career. We are thus increasing our attractiveness as an employer and can counteract the shortage of skilled workers." A total of 35 to 40 children from the age of one will be accommodated in three groups at the new daycare center. There will be two groups on the first floor, each with ten children under the age of three, and a mixed-age group with 15 to 20 children on the upper floor.

The new daycare center is being built on the grounds of the district administration office, on the green area next to the buildings at Hindenburgstraße 20/2 and 20/3. The district council commissioned the company Grötz from Nürtingen with the shell construction work. The planning office KMB GmbH from Ludwigsburg is responsible for the planning. The "Johanniter Unfall-Hilfe-e.V." was found as the provider of the daycare center with the help of a Europe-wide tender.

The places in the daycare center are available for children of employees of the district administration office and for children of state employees of the district administration office. In addition, ten places are reserved for children whose primary residence is in Ludwigsburg. The current cost estimate is 3.1 million euros. The district administration office can count on subsidies of 360,000 euros from the federal investment program for childcare funding.
