The regional election ballot papers for all constituencies were printed by the same printing company. It is suspected that ballot papers for the "Rems-Murr-Kreis" constituency were inadvertently delivered to the municipality of Sersheim, which belongs to the "Ludwigsburg" constituency. It is not yet possible to say how many regional election ballot papers from the "Rems-Murr-Kreis" constituency were mistakenly sent to eligible voters and postal voters in Sersheim.
Andreas Eschbach, District Chief Electoral Officer at the Ludwigsburg District Office, is therefore making an urgent appeal to all voters: "Please check your regional election ballot paper carefully to ensure that you have the correct constituency. If you find that you have received a ballot paper from the wrong constituency (Rems-Murr-Kreis), you will receive the correct ballot paper at the polling station on election Sunday. If you are affected and want to look at the correct ballot paper before election Sunday or even want to vote by post, please contact your local authority so that the ballot paper can be exchanged. However, if you have already voted by postal vote and are unsure whether you have voted for the correct constituency, please also contact your local authority. You will then be given the opportunity to vote again for the regional election (and the correct constituency)." The ballot paper previously sent in will be declared invalid.
All eligible voters in Sersheim will also receive an information letter from their municipal administration containing information on how to proceed and contact details for the municipality.
