Museumsquartier Marbach: Culture in a confined space

The Museumsquartier in Marbach am Neckar brings together an extraordinary variety of cultural institutions in a small space in the historic old town. Visitors can experience a multifaceted interplay of literature, art, science and technology in an authentic historical setting.

Central facilities in the old town

The central locations include Schiller's birthplace, which offers an impressive insight into the poet's life and origins, and the Tobias Mayer Museum, which is dedicated to the important natural scientist. The Fritz Genkinger Kunsthaus adds contemporary art to the offerings, while the Ölmühle Jäger technical cultural monument vividly conveys the history of craftsmanship and technology. The Upper Gate Tower, the town's landmark, completes the historical backdrop.

Addition to the Schillerhöhe

In the immediate vicinity on the Schillerhöhe, the renowned institutions of the German Literature Archive Marbach - including the Schiller National Museum and the Museum of Modern Literature - add internationally significant literary history to the cultural spectrum.
