Cycling for a good cause

On Thursday, June 30, and Friday, July 1, the Tour Ginkgo will be cycling through the Ludwigsburg district, collecting donations for the "aufwind - Bunter Kreis Ludwigsburg" association, which supports sick children and their families.

This year, the Christiane Eichenhofer Foundation's Tour Ginkgo is supporting the socio-medical aftercare organization "aufwind e.V. - Bunter Kreis Ludwigsburg", an initiative of the Ludwigsburg Children's Hospital. The Bunter Kreis supports, advises and accompanies families with prematurely born, seriously or chronically ill children in coping with this stressful life situation. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier welcomes the more than 100 cyclists to the start at 7.45 a.m. on Thursday morning in front of the clinic. "It is a matter close to my heart to support the aufwind association and thus sick children and their families," says the District Administrator.

In total, the cyclists will ride almost 200 kilometers through the district. The route runs along the Neckar via Kornwestheim to Marbach, Pleidelsheim and Mundelsheim and on to Remseck am Neckar. On Friday, July 1, the charity tour rolls on to Vaihingen an der Enz, Asperg and Besigheim.

At the stops in the respective municipalities, there will be various activities by school classes, clubs, companies and people from the region with the aim of collecting as many donations as possible for a good cause. Unfortunately, this was not possible in the last two years due to the corona pandemic, so the organizers are all the more delighted that the Tour Ginkgo can start again this year for its 30th anniversary.

100% of all donations collected will be forwarded to the beneficiaries.
