Europe may be the second smallest continent in the world after Australia, but its 50 countries are home to over 700 million people. The countries of Europe share a long and complex history. Many countries have experienced common historical events, such as the two world wars, the Renaissance and the Enlightenment. At the same time, Europe is also a melting pot of cultures. The different languages, cuisines, art forms and customs are a testament to this diversity. Last but not least, many European countries share common values such as democracy, human rights and freedom of expression. With the courses on offer in the autumn/winter semester 2024, the Schiller-vhs aims to reflect this diversity and create a space for experiences, exchanges and encounters.
From day trips to traditional cooking courses and language learning
In addition to the focus on Europe, there are also many exciting offers throughout the Ludwigsburg district and beyond. From day trips and glimpses behind the scenes to study trips in Germany and our neighboring European countries. Culinary enthusiasts can also get a taste for traditional cooking courses, as well as special wine and cooking experiences that showcase the diversity of European and global cuisine.
In the area of health, interested parties will again find many offers for prevention and health maintenance, but also special highlights such as the Zumba® Fitness Party on 04.10.2024, where interested parties can burn calories with lots of fun and rousing music from 18:00 in the Marbach town hall.
And if you realize during your summer vacation that you would like to brush up on your language skills for your next vacation destination, the Schiller-vhs offers a wide range of language courses for beginners and advanced learners.
Another highlight: the Academy Days in Bietigheim-Bissingen on November 6 and 7, 2024
In the IT/vocational department, everything revolves around developing and deepening the skills of common applications, as well as modern, AI-supported working and learning. The Schiller-vhs also offers customized, individually tailored courses for individual requirements and problems.
Another highlight is this year's 18th Academy Days in Bietigheim-Bissingen, which will take a look at what it means to be human with the topic "What is a human being - from Neanderthals to Generation Z". On 6 and 7 November 2024, interested parties will find out how the human brain, socialization and nature have developed, what defines humans and will continue to distinguish them from machines in the future.
