District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas called on the young people to actively participate: "You are the future of Europe - it is important that you get involved as young people.In this year's European competition, the pupils had the task of designing campaigns for the European elections and dealing with political communication in the digital age. District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas praised the creative ideas of the pupils and said: "It is important to actively work for the future of Europe. By taking part in the competition, you have dealt intensively with the EU and found out for yourselves what Europe brings you and what you want to change." Especially in view of the upcoming European elections, it is very important to develop an understanding of the EU among young people, said the head of the district administration. Because: "Only as a strong and united Europe can we survive and be heard in a globalized world," said District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas in his welcoming address.
In the 16th Europe Quiz of the district, the young people dealt intensively with the topic of Europe in order to be able to answer the challenging quiz questions.The first-placed class 10 Rd from Bönnigheim secondary school won a visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Thanks to the support of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg and the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Rainer Wieland, the other winners were also able to enjoy attractive prizes, such as a trip to the European Central Bank in Frankfurt or a book prize.
The European Competition is the only Europe-wide school competition for visual, written and multimedia works organized by the European Movement Germany (EBD). The aim is to strengthen the European awareness of children and young people at general and vocational schools.
