After Nicola Soric, Head of the Teacher Recruitment and Demand Planning Department at the Stuttgart Regional Council, had officially bid farewell, Andreas Eschbach from the Schools Department at the Ludwigsburg District Office welcomed the guests on behalf of the school authorities. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier, who had intended to bid Andreas Moser farewell in person, was unable to make it to the ceremony due to a seminar for district administrators, but sent his warmest regards.
Andreas Moser has been Head of School at the Oscar Walcker School (OWS) since 2006. Since 2013, he has also been Managing Principal of the six vocational schools run by the district. He is also a founding member of the skilled workers alliance, a representative of the vocational schools in the education region and the European Social Fund (ESF) working group, organized the distribution of immigrant students during the wave of refugees in 2015 and currently, and was a member of the vocational training committee of the Stuttgart Chamber of Crafts.
In the 16 years of Andreas Moser's work, the OWS was "decisively shaped and advanced", noted Eschbach. As a qualified architect with ten years of professional experience in an architect's office, the structural development of the OWS was always just as important to him as the conceptual development of the wide range of courses on offer. With its unique selling point, the construction of musical instruments, in particular organ building, the OWS has been recognized as a federal vocational school since 1993; the profession of organ and harmonium building as well as piano and harpsichord building is only taught here nationwide. Students - some from all over the world - are trained in the Ludwigsburg district. In 2017, German organ building was added to the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage and the organ building trade at OWS was declared a World Heritage Site as a vocational school. Another highlight was the visit by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in 2018 to mark Vocational Training Day.
Sabine Haveneth, the new head of the Oscar Walcker School, has been working here as a teacher and head of department for over 20 years.
Mr. Oliver Schmider was also appointed as the new managing principal of the district's vocational schools with effect from 01.08.2022. Mr. Oliver Schmider, who has been working at the Erich-Bracher-Schule since 2003, has held the position of principal of the Erich-Bracher-Schule in Kornwestheim-Pattonville since the beginning of 2018.
