"We are delighted that so many companies, institutions and administrations from across the district are taking the opportunity to get in touch with pupils at an early stage to provide information about their apprenticeships and advertise them," says Markus Schmitt, Head of the Education Office, which operates the platform. After school internships often had to be canceled in the last two years of the pandemic, they are now possible again without restrictions. www.erlebe-berufe.de is therefore a good opportunity for pupils to use the upcoming vacations for their career orientation and to gain practical experience.
"In order to make a good decision when choosing a career, it is important to get a taste of as many of the more than 300 training occupations as possible. Young people are often surprised at what is actually behind the individual professions. An occupation that previously held little interest can become a new favorite, or the supposed dream job may not be as dreamy as expected," explains Beate Jacobsen from the Erlebe-Berufe team.
The various sectors are represented on the platform with many exciting training occupations. For example, interested parties can find careers such as hearing aid technician, IT specialist, technical model maker, roofer, nursing specialist, courier, express and postal services clerk and many more. The large number of attractive professions also shows that an apprenticeship can be a real alternative to studying.
And this is how www.erlebe-berufe.de works: employers present themselves and their vacation internships or taster days on the online portal and indicate which professions you can get to know at their company. "Interested parties can filter by occupational field, internship type, time period and age and make a binding booking for offers. Dual study courses are also presented by individual employers. The fields of business administration, computer science and engineering are represented," reports Hiltraut Vieth from the Erlebe-BerufeTeam. "The participants are covered by accident and liability insurance during the vacation offers and receive a certificate of participation, which they can attach to a later application, two further plus points of our platform. And the internet platform is also interesting for young people after the vacations, as they can already find over 100 offers for school internships there," says Schmitt.
