Nico Safai, new principal of Paul-Aldinger-Schule, introduces himself: "Education and participation remain a key concern for me"

The new head of the Paul-Aldinger-Schule in Steinheim-Kleinbottwar, Nico Safai, introduced himself at the meeting of the Culture, Schools and Europe Committee (KuSEA) on Wednesday afternoon (November 20, 2024). Since the 2023/2024 school year, he had already been acting head of the Paul-Aldinger-Schule special education and advisory center with a focus on mental development, which is run by the Ludwigsburg district. Safai was appointed principal on October 10, 2024. "The education and participation of people with so-called intellectual disabilities are and will remain a central concern for me," said Safai during his presentation.

From 2020 until he took over as acting head of school, the 32-year-old teacher of special needs education was a class teacher in the primary and main level of the Paul-Aldinger-Schule, was head of the main level and a mentor for students at the Ludwigsburg University of Education as well as for candidates in the preparatory service. He also supervised second-subject candidates as an external trainer at the Stuttgart Seminar.

Milestones in his work to date have been his involvement in the introduction of the new education plan at the Paul-Aldinger-Schule and his role as acting head of school. In this role, he was also involved in the planning of the forthcoming extension. In addition to his role as principal, Safai continues to teach at the Seminar for Teacher Training and Further Education in Stuttgart.
