New multi-family program at the Psychological Counselling Centre - Free places: "Children out of trouble" for families in separation conflicts

Under the title "Children out of trouble", the Ludwigsburg district psychological advice center is offering a new multifamily program for families in which the parents are in conflict after a separation or divorce and the children are suffering as a result. There are still places available for the program.

Interested parties can register for the multi-family program until 15 August at the office of the Ludwigsburg District Psychological Counselling Centre, telephone 07141 144-2529. Interested parties can also obtain more detailed information about the program and how to register there.

The program at the Psychological Counselling Centre in the District Office starts with an information evening on Tuesday, 8 October 2024, and will take place every 14 days on Tuesdays from then on. The aim of the service is to help put the focus back on the children in highly contentious families and reduce disputes between separated parents.

Preliminary talks and information evening at the start of the multi-family program

The training initially consists of two preliminary talks for the families and an information evening at the beginning of October for the family network, in which not only the parents, but also grandparents, friends or other important people from the family should take part. This is followed by eight meetings every two weeks, during which a parents' group and a children's group work on topics in parallel.

The parents work together with other parent couples who are in similar circumstances on a new narrative of their separation in order to let go and work together again in the future. The children (aged six and over) work in a separate group on their own issues relating to separation.

"It is important to keep trying to come to an understanding and keep the negative effects, especially on the children, to a minimum," explains Katja Bodinek, Head of the Psychological Counseling Center at the Ludwigsburg District Office. This is where the multifamily program wants to help. Parents should be empowered to get out of their cycle of conflict and focus on their children again.
