New fitness room opened for pupils and teachers

More than just lifting weights: Today, Thursday, October 17, 2024, the new fitness room at the vocational school center in Bietigheim-Bissingen was officially opened. Principal Stefan Ranzinger and District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier also gave a speech and expressed their enthusiasm for the new facilities.

A busy gym scene shows individuals engaging in various workout activities. Two men sit on rowing machines, smiling and sharing a friendly conversation. In the background, others are using stationary bikes and weight equipment, emphasizing a lively atmosphere focused on fitness and camaraderie.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier (l.) and Headmaster Stefan Ranzinger worked up a sweat on the rowing machine (Ludwigsburg District Office).

Weight benches, rowing machines, cable machines and much more: from now on, pupils at the vocational school center in Bietigheim-Bissingen can use fitness equipment to build up strength and stamina in PE lessons. Teachers can also use the room and equipment during lunch breaks or after school.

The equipment, worth around 30,000 euros, is located in the school's new fitness room, for which two equipment rooms were renovated. "The school's fitness room symbolizes the connection between sport and health. It is a place where pupils and teachers can not only train their strength, endurance and flexibility, but also improve their mental fitness and reduce stress," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier at the official opening.

In a world that is increasingly digitalized and often characterized by stress and hectic, exercise offers a valuable balance, Allgaier continued.

Fitness room to make the school more attractive

Principal Stefan Ranzinger is proud of the project and the finished result. The aim of the new fitness room is also to make the school more attractive. "With the new fitness room, we are not only increasing the sporting opportunities at our school, but also making it more attractive as a place of learning overall. We want to create an environment in which pupils and teachers feel comfortable and in which health and community take center stage," said Ranzinger.

Pupils and teachers demonstrated how to use the fitness equipment to the guests present. District Administrator Allgaier also worked up a sweat during the live demonstration. He was able to put his muscle strength to the test on the rowing machine. As the grand finale, the students competed in two bench press and rowing competitions. At an award ceremony, the winners were presented with certificates by the district administrator.
