The Schule am Schlosspark is a Special Education and Counseling Center (SBBZ) that focuses on supporting students undergoing long-term hospital treatment. After the previous principal, Tobias Bökle, stepped down from his leadership role at the end of the 2024–25 school year, the principal’s position needed to be filled. During the 2025–26 school year, the then-deputy principal, Gunhilt Gruber, served as interim principal.
With experience and clear goals
With Meier-Diedrich, an experienced special education teacher is now taking over as principal of the Schule am Schlosspark. Previously, she worked as a special education teacher at the Bodelschwinghschule Murrhardt, a special education and counseling center focusing on intellectual development as well as physical and motor development. In recent years, she headed the early intervention center for the Upper Murr Valley.
“In recent years, I have gained extensive experience in counseling, guiding, and supporting children and families, and have further deepened my organizational and professional skills,” says Meier-Diedrich. “My goal now, as principal, is to further develop the Schule am Schlosspark as a reliable and supportive bridge between the clinic, partner organizations, students, parents, and the respective home schools. Close collaboration with general education schools, other special education and counseling centers, and extracurricular partners is crucial to this.”
