New outdoor area at Schule am Favoritepark inaugurated: joyful and active start to the new year for pupils

The pupils of the school at Favoritepark were greeted with a special event on the first day of school after the Christmas vacations: District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier officially inaugurated the school's new outdoor facilities. The functional and attractive schoolyard has been equipped with outdoor fitness equipment and a weatherproof blackboard. In total, the district of Ludwigsburg, as the school authority, has invested around 110,000 euros.

At the inauguration ceremony, District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier emphasized that the new schoolyard is a place for movement, encounters and learning. "There is something for everyone - whether they are interested in sport or creativity," said Allgaier. Boredom in the breaks is now a thing of the past. Allgaier particularly thanked the Helga Schaaf Foundation for its generous support: a donation of 10,000 euros made it possible to purchase the outdoor fitness equipment.

Acting principal Petra Zey thanked the donor and District Administrator Allgaier as well as all those involved in the planning and implementation of the imaginative redesign of the school grounds, especially on behalf of the pupils at Schule am Favoritepark.

A benefit for health, learning and community

The new facilities promote pupils' motor skills as well as their mental and social development. Exercise in everyday school life has been proven to improve health, concentration and self-confidence. The official handover of the outdoor facility to the acting principal Petra Zey and her staff - and therefore to the pupils - is a sign of the desire for active, creative and relaxing breaks and a school environment in which everyone can feel at ease.
