New edition of the cycle map of the "ART LOOP" sculpture cycle path: discover nature and culture in the west of the district by bike

The free cycle map of the "ART LOOP" sculpture cycle path has been revised and reissued. At the start of the cycling season, the map inspires cyclists to embark on an exciting discovery tour through the Stroh- and Heckengäu in the west of the district.

A tall, abstract, rust-colored sculpture stands in a grassy area. Two cyclists pass by on a path, surrounded by fields and a blue sky with clouds, creating a serene outdoor atmosphere.

The "ART LOOP" sculpture cycle path is around 34 kilometers long and leads past seven sculptures specially created for the circular route (Ludwigsburg District Office).

Just in time for the start of the spring season, the cycle map of the "ART LOOP" sculpture cycle path has been updated and adapted to the new design of the cycle maps of the Ludwigsburg district. Instead of a booklet as before, the new cycle map is now available as a practical folding map. In addition to a topographical map with the route, the district's everyday cycle route network and tour data, the cycle map also contains brief descriptions of the sculptures and details of the artists.

Route and highlights of the tour

The approximately 34-kilometre "ART LOOP" sculpture cycle path was inaugurated in June 2023 and leads through Schwieberdingen, the Eberding districts of Hochdorf and Nussdorf as well as Hemmingen. Along the circular route, you can discover and marvel at seven sculptures created especially for the cycle path by an artist and five artists from Künstlerbund Baden-Württemberg e.V. We recommend riding the route on an e-bike.

The cycle path was sponsored by the Art, Culture and Education Foundation of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg, Peter W. Klein from Eberdingen-Nussdorf, the Wüstenrot Foundation and the Verband Region Stuttgart.

The ART LOOP cycle map is now available free of charge at the citizen information desk in Ludwigsburg district hall and in the town halls of Schwieberdingen, Eberdingen and Hemmingen. It can also be ordered from the Ludwigsburg district office by emailing tourismus[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de.
