Line 460 continues to operate continuously at half-hour intervals. The schedules are coordinated with the arrival and departure times of the S-Bahn in Benningen to ensure reliable connections.
Adequate Capacity During Peak Hours
More extensive adjustments are required for Line 461, as the S-Bahn runs only every half hour during summer vacation.
During off-peak hours (Monday through Friday from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as in the evenings and on weekends), Line 461 operates exclusively between Winzerhausen, Horrenwinkel, and Steinheim Bahnhof. There, passengers can connect to Line 460 to and from Benningen.
During peak hours (Monday through Friday, approximately from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.), Line 461 also runs continuously at half-hour intervals between Winzerhausen and Benningen. Together with Line 460, two buses will then run almost simultaneously for each S-Bahn connection. This ensures sufficient capacity is available during peak hours.
To distribute passenger load more evenly, passengers are asked to use both buses as evenly as possible.
Line X46 is suspended during summer break
The X46 express bus line will not operate during the summer break. Since the S-Bahn runs only every half hour, the X46 buses would have to depart at the same time as lines 460 and 461. However, these two lines already provide sufficient capacity. An additional third bus would also cause traffic problems. Passengers can use Line 460 instead.
The N46 night bus line also departs from Benningen
The N46 night bus line also departs from Benningen Station during the summer break and travels from there toward Beilstein. The updated schedules will be published shortly via the VVS schedule information service.
Bus service to Marbach Station resumes after the summer break
After the summer break, some buses will be able to pass the construction site via the temporary detour at the wastewater treatment plant. At the same time, the Steinheim through road (L1126) will reopen. This will allow bus routes to resume service to Marbach Station.
School bus service to the Marbach School Center will also be routed via the temporary detour at that time. The schedules for this period are currently being finalized and will be published in the VVS schedule information system before the summer break.
The rerouting of bus service poses a major challenge for everyone involved. The District Office therefore asks for your understanding that restrictions and disruptions cannot be completely avoided during the construction period.
