At the kick-off event, five activity stands were set up on the market square, where various aspects of surveying work were presented. Practical demonstrations, such as measuring distances with a total station, were used to illustrate these for schoolchildren and other interested parties. A large number of interested people attended and were impressed by the wide range of applications and the modern appearance of today's surveying profession. In addition, experts from the District Office and the City of Ludwigsburg provided visitors with information about the profession, training and internships at an information stand.

As part of the campaign week, surveying experts also visit various schools in the district to raise awareness of the surveying profession. Pupils are allowed to operate the surveyors' instruments themselves under supervision.

The surveying administrations of the district and the city hope to attract many young people to the profession in this way. The campaign week is intended to help recruit enough young people in the surveying sector.
